Women in Islamic Society1 abstractionIn the western society today there is a stereotypic belief that Moslem women are treated unequally and cruelly. The object of this subject area is to challenge this stereotype and the argument of genderequality within the Islamic Religion/Muslim society.2 INTRODUCTIONThe stipulation of women in the Muslim society is neither a new issue nor a in full settled one. The position of Islam on this issue has been amongthe subjects presented to the Western reader with the leastobjectivity. This say is intended to provide a brief and authentic parade of what Islam stands for in regard to women within theirbeliefs. The teachings of Islam are based essentially on the Quran(Gods revelation) and Hadeeth (elaboration by Prophet Muhammad). TheQuran and the Hadeeth provide the basic stem of authentication for whatsoever position or view which is attributed to Islam. This report focuseson the position of Islam regarding the status of woman in society3 ME THODOLOGYThe information of this report was obtained through&61623 Mullah, Hassan Ismahael- One of the priests (Mullahs) of theGold Coast Islamic community. Mullah Ismahael was approached with thequestion everyplace equal rights within his religion and its typecasts. Inresponse he verbalise that he opposed these stereotypes for it is againstthe true meaning of Islam, Muslims do not weigh in such inequalityand with this he was a main source of information quoting from theQuran and Hadeeth plus giving his viewpoint in many aspects of thisreligion.&61623 Quran (Gods revelation) and Hadeeth (elaboration by ProphetMuhammad).&61623 Library resources&61623 The Internet4 WOMAN IN ISLAM4.1 The ghostlike Aspect The Quran provides clear-cut evidence thatwoman is completely equated with man in the sight of God in terms ofher rights and responsibilities. The Quran states Every soul forgetbe (held) in pledge for its deeds (Quran 7438). It also states...So their victor accepted their praye rs, (saying) I will not suffer to be woolly the work of any of you whether male or female. You proceed one from other ...(Quran 3 195).Woman according to the Quran is not blamed for Adams first mistake. twain were jointly wrong in their disobedience to God, both repented,and both were forgiven. (Quran 236, 720 - 24). In one verse in point(20121), Adam specifically, was blamed. In terms of religiousobligations, such as the cursory Prayers, Fasting, Poor-due, andPilgrimage, woman is no different from man. In some cases indeed, womanhas accredited advantages over man. For example, the woman is exemptedfrom the daily prayers and from fasting during her menstrual periods
